DAY TWO

oh i didnt mention about the hotsprings that we were supposed to visit on day one. well, i didnt go cos i dont like being in such close proximity with strangers and there were lots of naked people around. that night we had yummy steamboat too!

on day two we went to yongpyong ski resort, where i had my first taste of ski-ing. korean kids, like the rest of the koreans (lol what am i talking about) are all gorgeous people. there were long queues of korean kids queing up for ski lessons at the resort. ski-ing is supposed to be a really expensive hobby but nonetheless there were lots of people at the ski resort. and they were all dressed really nicely. speaking of dressing nicely, i think koreans are definitely one of the best dressed in the world! they look gorgeous without going over the top. unlike the many singaporean girls sporting uber long fake lashes and over the top clothing, they look great although they aren;t wearing anything loud.ok fast forward to te cable car ride, 1400m up in the air. the winds were so strong that when you stood outside, you really SWAYED. couldnt stand the cold so i stayed inside. and finally ski-ing!i fell down twice and its really difficult to get up after falling down (could be because im so embarassingly unfit) the second time i was ski-ing down the slope and then i couldnt brake in time and i crashed into my bro.after that i gave up making the tough ascent to ski down the slope again, and went to eat churros instead!that day i ended up with a sunburn and aching arms from carrying the ski plates up the slopes.

DAY THREE
went to everland! everland is huge, and looks something like hk disneyland. but bigger i think. however it was pretty disappointing as the tour schedule was so rushed that we didnt get to take many rides. korean kids are gutsy. prob cos of the school hols or something that majority of the theme park visitors consisted of children. and you'll find these children queing up for the scariest rides, like the double rock twist where you get spun round 360 degrees. pretty sadistic cos while the children are being 'rocked' about, the person in charge is rocking too, dancing on the podium and giving some korean commentary as the ride proceeds. went on the snowslide too, poor choice cos you have to use your shoes to brake. so they get all wet. and then you feel like you're standing on ice.ouch.there was this cool safari where we saw ligers! and tigers and lions and bears and giraffes! the bears do tricks like dancing and saying hello, but imagine the poor things have to perform the same trick everytime the bus passes them just for a little biscuit. very tiring and monotonous too. you get to see the animals up close too, about 2m away perhaps as they're allowed to roam freely while the bus moves within the enclosure. we wasted 30 mins queing for this ride called the rotating house.again the queue was full of gutsy korean kids who turned out to be not so gutsy as they started screaming VERY LOUDLY when the ride started.well the ride basically gives you this illusion that you're in a room that rotates 360 degrees when its not.and the weirdest thing is that at the end of the ride you feel some thing stroking your leg (i looked, they seem like raffia string) and poking/groping your butt.

after everland we hit dongdaemun in seoul. dongdaemun is this awesome shopping district with lots of clothes. i didnt buy anything though, due to the lack of time and choices since it was winter season. the prices weren;t cheap either, 38000 won for a pair of paisley print leggings?! although there were some tops going for 19000, 20000 won.well hopefully ill get something next time.

we stayed in this freezing co-op residence. the tiny room has 2 beds, and it was smaller than my room so quite a bit of squeeze. it was generally clean but the not so nice thing was that the heater wasn't working very well so the room was very cold.
